Week 2 Focuses on Marketing & Brand Positioning

Following a strong foundation in entrepreneurship and business development during Week 1, the Africa Street MBA 2026 Virtual Incubator moves into an important new phase in Week 2: Marketing & Brand Positioning.

Taking place from 11–13 August 2026, the three-day training will equip participants with practical knowledge and strategies to effectively position their businesses, connect with customers, strengthen their brands and compete in an increasingly digital marketplace.

The sessions will be facilitated by Josephine Worlali Adatsi (award-winning speaker, PR & communication strategist, gender advocate, and youth leader), who will guide participants through the critical role marketing and branding play in building sustainable, customer-focused businesses.

Building Brands That Stand Out

For entrepreneurs, having a good product or service is only part of the journey. Businesses must also be able to communicate their value clearly, differentiate themselves from competitors and build meaningful relationships with their target customers.

Week 2 will therefore begin with Branding & Brand Positioning, helping participants understand how to define their brand identity, communicate their unique value proposition and establish a distinctive position in the minds of their customers.

Participants will also explore Marketing Strategy for Small Businesses, focusing on practical approaches that entrepreneurs can use to identify their target markets, reach potential customers and make effective use of limited resources.

Leveraging Digital Platforms

With digital platforms playing an increasingly important role in how businesses engage customers, the programme will also examine social media and digital marketing.

Participants will gain insights into how social media can be used strategically to increase visibility, build communities, generate leads and strengthen customer relationships. The emphasis will be on moving beyond simply posting content to developing purposeful digital marketing strategies that contribute to business growth.

Turning Attention into Customer Loyalty

Marketing is ultimately about creating value and building relationships. As part of the week’s sessions, participants will explore Selling to Customers & Customer Experience.

The training will help entrepreneurs understand the customer journey, improve how they communicate with prospects, develop effective selling approaches and create experiences that encourage customers to return and recommend their businesses.

Building the Entrepreneur Behind the Brand

The final area of focus will be Personal Branding for Entrepreneurs.

In today’s business environment, the entrepreneur is often an important part of the brand itself. Participants will learn how to position themselves professionally, communicate their expertise and build credibility and trust with customers, partners, investors and other stakeholders.
