Africa Street MBA Unveils the 2026 Virtual Incubator Cohort

Africa Street MBA, in collaboration with DONE BY US and the Transnational Institute of Professional Studies, is pleased to announce the successful completion of the selection process for its 2026 Virtual Incubator Programme, unveiling an exceptional cohort of ten entrepreneurs whose innovative ventures demonstrate strong potential for business growth, job creation and social impact.

Following the close of applications on 24 July 2026, shortlisted applicants underwent a rigorous evaluation process that assessed the uniqueness of their business ideas, scalability, innovation, commitment, and potential to create sustainable employment opportunities.

The selected entrepreneurs represent diverse sectors of Ghana’s economy, including sustainable manufacturing, agribusiness, fashion, beauty, horticulture, food processing, skills development and the circular economy. Collectively, they reflect Africa Street MBA’s mission of empowering entrepreneurs to build resilient businesses that solve local challenges while creating lasting economic opportunities.

The 2026 cohort comprises:

  1. Mahamud Mubarik – Founder, Ecoverse LTD, transforming agricultural biomass and plastic waste into affordable, high-strength pavement bricks and interlocking blocks.
  2. Dominic Singban Ugai – Founder, BioSPACE GH LTD, converting agricultural waste into biodegradable moulded fibre packaging, with environmentally friendly egg trays as its flagship product.
  3. Bernard Ofori Akwetey – Founder, Akwetey Maize Matrix Farm, promoting climate-smart maize and greenhouse tomato production using predominantly organic farming methods.

The selected entrepreneurs stood out for their creativity, determination and commitment to solving pressing challenges within their communities. Several of the ventures focus on environmental sustainability by transforming waste into valuable products, while others seek to preserve local craftsmanship, improve food security, promote healthy lifestyles, or equip young people with practical, employable skills.

Over the next four weeks, cohort members will participate in an intensive virtual incubation programme designed to strengthen their entrepreneurial capabilities. Participants will receive practical training in business strategy, financial management, marketing, operations, customer acquisition, business modelling, pitching, leadership and venture growth. They will also benefit from mentorship, peer learning and access to experienced facilitators from Africa Street MBA, DONE BY US and Transnational Institute of Professional Studies.

Speaking on the announcement, King Adawu Wellington, project lead for Africa Street MBA, reaffirmed their commitment to supporting entrepreneurs who are building businesses capable of creating meaningful employment and driving inclusive economic growth across Africa.

“Every year, we are inspired by the ingenuity and resilience of entrepreneurs who refuse to accept the status quo. The 2026 cohort demonstrates that African entrepreneurs are developing practical, innovative solutions to local challenges—from sustainable manufacturing and agribusiness to fashion, skills development and health-focused enterprises. We congratulate all selected participants and look forward to supporting them as they build businesses that create jobs and transform communities” he said.

King Adawu Wellington also commended every applicant who took part in this year’s highly competitive selection process. “While only ten entrepreneurs could be selected for this cohort, every application reflected courage, ambition and the desire to build something meaningful. We encourage unsuccessful applicants to continue refining their ventures and look forward to engaging many of them through future programmes,” he added.

The Africa Street MBA Virtual Incubator continues to serve as one of DONE BY US’s flagship initiatives, equipping entrepreneurs with practical business knowledge, mentorship and a supportive ecosystem to help them launch, grow and scale sustainable enterprises.

Africa Street MBA congratulates the entire 2026 cohort and wishes them every success as they embark on this exciting entrepreneurial journey.
