What is Africa Street MBA?
Africa Street MBA (AfSMBA) is an innovative entrepreneurial platform aimed at providing comprehensive support to startups and small businesses in Africa. AfSMBA is an initiative being implemented by DONE BY US in Africa starting with Ghana with support from the KGL Foundation.
Recognising the significant unemployment rate among Africa's youth and the lack of proper business knowledge, AfSMBA seeks to address these challenges by offering capacity building initiatives such as training, coaching, mentorship, business development services, and funding opportunities. The project targets marginalised groups, including persons with disabilities (PWDs), women, and young people from economically disadvantaged backgrounds as well as those with low education, with a focus on the Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) sector.

OUR PROJECTS
Entrepreneurship Training
The Africa Street MBA (AfSMBA) undertakes year-round entrepreneurship trainings dubbed Entrepreneurship Essentials Master Class in underserved communities. These trainings are designed to be delivered in English and local languages and is intended to bridge the business knowledge gap among the youth. The approach to delivering the trainings is via the Citizen Volunteerism method where our team engages and utilises selected volunteers across all implementing communities. The AfSMBA team organises frequent training of trainers for the volunteers and supply them with continuous educational materials and logistics to aid with the delivering of the training.
Accelerator Programme
The Africa Street MBA (AfSMBA) Accelerator programme is designed to empower the youth to be investment ready. The Accelerator comprises of over 20 business topics delivered by expert management consultants across the world. Beneficiaries go through a comprehensive and intensive 4 weeks or 12 weeks period and they work with mentors and coaches to make them ready. The Accelerator is organised once per year after an extensive regional training exercise by the AfSMBA team. The programme is climaxed with a Pitching and Demonstration Day where selected entrepreneurs pitch their businesses and demonstrate their products or services. Building Employability Skills of Youth in Ghana (BESYG)
The ‘Building the Employability Skills of Youth in Ghana’ (BESYG) Project is designed to empower the youth preferably women and persons with disabilities with the tools, knowledge, and skills to drastically improve their employability skills making them competitive for the global job market. Specifically, the BESYG project will build a set of transferable skills and key personal attributes – of beneficiaries – which are highly valued by employers and essential for effective performance in the workplace. Start-up Community & School Clubs
The Africa Street MBA is a community made up of people with commonalities in the area of entrepreneurship, innovation, career and national development through enterprise. Our community is also made up of high-school and university clubs where we have both virtual & in-person engagements.
Empowering 100,000 Youth by 2026 Through Entrepreneurship & Making Them Competitive in the Job Market
The 100 Project is our ambitious plan to positively impact the lives of 100,000 youth through entrepreneurship and making them competitive in the job market. Beneficiaries are youth in the underserved communities, thus those. from poor backgrounds and with low education thereby fulfilling our mantra of empowering youth into global giants.
