Empowering Entrepreneurs to Thrive in the Business Landscape: The Africa Street MBA Way

Since the launch of the Africa Street MBA on January 24th, 2023, our accelerators have been on a transformative journey, going through insightful online sessions and engaging in-person meetings that have propelled them towards business excellence & growth.

Our accelerators have gone through a curriculum carefully crafted to provide them with an integrated business support and knowledge. The hybrid nature of our training plan, combining virtual and in-person sessions, has enriched their learning experience and ensured an all-inclusive understanding of key entrepreneurial aspects.

The curriculum covered a comprehensive range of topics, including Business Strategy, Marketing and Sales, Accounting and Taxation, Legal Framework for Running a Business in Ghana, Exceptional Customer Service, Business Financing and Investment, Leadership and Business Ethics, Corporate Governance, Risk Management, and Essentials of Anti-Money Laundering.

Throughout their journey, our accelerators have had the privilege to learn from knowledgeable facilitators. Experts such as King. A. Wellington, Richard Osafo Boadi, Richard Kofigah, Mr. James Killifin, MacNamara Peter-Brown, Mr. Daniel Pippim Effah, Kwabena Ofori Ntow, David Botchway, and Ramat Ebelle Whajah have shared practical wisdom and firsthand experiences, adding depth and practicality to the learning process.

The impact of the training has been great. From shaping business plans to learning the legal framework for running a business in Ghana they have not only gained knowledge but also a renewed sense of purpose and direction in their entrepreneurial endeavors.

Here’s what some of our accelerators had to say:

“This session has been an insightful one. This is because I have been equipped with the right tool to write up a business plan for my business presently and in other future businesses that I may start up.” – Mawuli Ayikpa

“As someone new to entrepreneurship, I had many ideas for my business but was not sure about how to structure and execute them effectively. This training had given me fair ideas of how to structure my business plans. Thank you, Africa Street MBA.” – Nosa Aminufa

“Throughout the session, one of the key takeaways was the notion that businesses can no longer focus solely on profits; they have a responsibility to positively impact society and the environment. Mr. King Wellington highlighted various case studies and real-world examples of companies that have successfully implemented responsible business practices.” – Akou Djaka

Our accelerators, comprising of 19 members including 4 females and 15 males, have formed a vibrant community of passionate entrepreneurs. Since its launch, the Africa Street MBA Accelerator Program has paved the way for growth, innovation, and collaboration. We received an overwhelming response with over 80 applications from aspiring entrepreneurs eager to embark on an entrepreneurial journey.

The entrepreneurial journey started with two virtual training sessions for the general applicants. On Tuesday, May 30th, 2023, we held a general training, followed by an initial pitching session on Friday, June 2nd, where applicants showcased their businesses for induction into the accelerator program. This led to the induction of 19 individuals into the Africa Street MBA Cohort 1.

These accelerators on Saturday, 2nd September, 2023 will pitch their skills and business ideas for support and funding for their business at Tomreik Hotel, East Legon. The time is 10:00am

The Africa Street MBA Accelerator Program continues to be a driving force in shaping entrepreneurs eager to make their mark in the world of business.
